A wilderness adventure forrecreational sea kayakers: The itinerary features days onpristine waters and nights under the Southern Cross. As we paddle, huge mammalsrise out in the Gulf of San Jose and playful seals bark and slide into thewater to join us. Kayaking In Patagonia: Crossing from the Andes to the Atlantic.

Those are some of the highlights from our Crossing from the Andes to the Atlantic Sea Expedition in Nov 2011.

We had wonderful moments, with a great company. In our days Kayaking we enjoyed beautiful landscapes, imposing views. We really could fell the Best of Patagonia, calm lakes and Rivers, and great moments with the Wildlife in Peninsula Valdes.

Rivadavia Lake, after paddling down the Carriluefu River we get into the Rivadavia Lake and the Northern entrances of the Alerces National Park.

Also from the shore we really enjoyed the whales, breaching, lob tailing and swimming along the shore.

ThisProgram is designed to get to know and to appreciate by kayaking, the threemain habitats of Patagonia. The temperate forests in the Andes Mountain Range –the highlight being the ancient Alerce tree, paddling in the lakes that composeLos Alerces National Park and crossing Lakes and Rivers of transparent waters.

Weleave the Andes, taken by the waters of the River Chubut crossing the steppe,with it’s magnificent geology represented by big walls that form the homonymousvalley. We will dazzle ourselves with imposing landscapes and the continuousturns that the rivers gives along the journey. We will observe several speciesof birds and characteristic habitats of the patagonian steppe.

Toconclude we will arrive to the ocean where we will navigate the waters of theSan José gulf. We will enjoy beautiful bays, cliffs loaded with traces of marinelife of the past and mainly the marine fauna that is along this costs, such as:sea lions colonies, elephant sealcolonies, colonies of marine birds and the presence of the Southern RightWhale, this being an important reproduction area of this species.

Thisway we will have carried out a journey along the Geography of the Province ofChubut, fully enjoying vast landscapes in a unique journey in contact with thenature, learning and getting to know in depth.

Sea Kayak and Whale Watching in Patagonia.

Naturally Peninsula. Golfo San Jose. Peninsula Valdes.

In the Waters of the Atlantic Coast in Northern Patagonia, Peninsula Valdes we where paddling for 10 days in a exclusive Sea Kayak trip.

Paddling the waters of San Jose Gulf, we could see many diferents species of marine birds, such as oystercatcher, terns, Cormorants, Penguins, Herons, Giant Petrels and plovers.

The marine mammals were present along the coast with colonies of Sea lions, and the imposing Shouthern Rigth Whale. We had time to learn about the Wildlife of Peninsula Valdes, this was possible from our kayaks, daily hikes and our campsites.

In this Expedition was Karen, Sara and Marcus. Sofia and Pablo were the guides. Thogether we enjoyed everyday paddling when the weather was good (not windy), and trekking to diferents points of view along the coast, the steppe or the sand dunes, dicovering marine fossiles, archeological remains of the native people (tehuelches). Whether spending the day birdwatching, visiting archeological sites along the coast, enjoying spectacular sunsets or listening the sound of the Southern rigth Whale, Kayaking in the Peninsula Valdes was all about fun and adventure

Also we had time to contemplete from the coast the Shouthern Rigth Whale, learning about his behaviour. Read and relax at the campsite, and enjoyed pure nature.
